Privacy Policy
How TeamFooty collects, uses, shares and protects personal information.
1. Who is responsible for your data
TeamFooty is responsible for the personal information processed through teamfooty.co.uk. Privacy enquiries can be sent to admin@teamfooty.co.uk.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use TeamFooty, we may process:
- your name, email address and optional phone number;
- account role, login history and account status;
- teams you own, join or ask to join;
- profile details and media you choose to add, such as profile/cover photos and gallery content;
- postcode/location information and derived map coordinates used for relevant team, fixture and recruitment features;
- fixture responses, waiting-list/replacement activity, attendance, availability choices and generated team assignments;
- ratings, Player of the Match votes/results and other post-match participation records;
- payments, refunds, payment status, transaction references and amounts;
- pitch invoices or receipts uploaded by authorised organisers;
- team-chat/personal-chat messages, Team Feed posts, replies, reactions, events, polls and moderation actions;
- recruitment adverts, join requests and information needed to match players with relevant teams;
- support tickets, replies and contact messages;
- push-notification subscriptions, browser details and notification preferences;
- technical information such as IP address, device type, logs and security events.
3. Card and payment information
Card payments are processed by Stripe. TeamFooty does not receive or store your full card number or card security code. Stripe may process personal and payment information under its own privacy terms.
4. Why we use your information
We use personal information to:
- create and secure your account;
- allow you to join and manage teams;
- operate fixtures, waiting lists, replacements, availability, team generation, attendance and post-match features;
- calculate, request, refund and record payments and maintain related organiser records;
- provide team discovery/recruitment and location-aware features where used;
- deliver chat, Team Feed, events, polls, support tickets, emails and push notifications;
- prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorised access;
- respond to support requests;
- meet legal, accounting and regulatory requirements;
- improve the reliability and usability of TeamFooty.
5. Lawful bases
We generally rely on performance of a contract to provide the account and services you request, legitimate interests to secure and improve the platform, legal obligation where records must be retained, and consent where the law requires it, such as optional non-essential cookies or browser notification permission.
6. Who can see your information
Members of a team can see information needed for that team, such as your display name, relevant profile information, fixture response and team content. Team organisers can manage their own members, requests, fixtures and payments, but they do not receive general editing control over your global TeamFooty account. Personal support tickets remain private to you and authorised TeamFooty administrators unless a ticket is deliberately created as a team-scoped support matter.
We may also share relevant information with service providers that help operate TeamFooty, including hosting, email delivery, push-notification services and Stripe. Information may be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect users, the platform or legal rights.
7. International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards should be used as required by UK data-protection law.
8. How long we keep information
We keep account and team information while needed to provide TeamFooty and maintain appropriate service history. Leaving a team does not necessarily erase historical fixture, attendance or payment records. Access to team-specific content can be limited by the dates of your current membership, including when you leave and later rejoin. Chat and social content remains until deleted by an authorised user or retention is no longer necessary.
Payment and transaction records may be retained for longer where needed for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or legal purposes. Expired login and push-subscription records may be deleted or deactivated.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable UK data-protection law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to certain uses of your information. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent.
Requests can be made through the contact page. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
10. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
11. Children
Team organisers are responsible for ensuring they have an appropriate basis and any necessary parent or guardian involvement before adding children or young people to a team. TeamFooty should not be used to post sensitive information about a child in team chat.
12. Security
TeamFooty uses measures including password hashing, secure sessions, persistent-login token hashing, CSRF protection, permission checks and encrypted HTTPS connections. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when features, service providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page.
